Installing OpenBB Terminal on your devices

OpenBB Terminal is now available as a Progressive Web App (PWA) for desktop, iOS, and Android devices. This guide will walk you through the installation process for each platform.

Desktop Installation​

You can install OpenBB Terminal as a PWA on your desktop computer using Chrome, Edge, or other Chromium-based browsers.

  1. Open your browser and navigate to https://pro.openbb.co.
  2. Look for the install icon in the address bar (usually a plus sign or computer icon).
  3. Click the install icon and follow the prompts to add OpenBB Terminal to your desktop.

Here's a quick video demonstration:

iOS Installation​

  1. Open Safari on your iOS device and navigate to https://pro.openbb.co.
  2. Tap the share button at the bottom of the screen (the square with an arrow pointing upward).
  3. Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen".
  4. Name the app "OpenBB Terminal" and tap "Add".
  5. The OpenBB Terminal icon will now appear on your home screen.

Android Installation​

  1. Open Chrome on your Android device and go to https://pro.openbb.co.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner.
  3. Select "Add to Home screen" from the dropdown menu.
  4. Name the app "OpenBB Terminal" and tap "Add".
  5. The OpenBB Terminal icon will now be available on your home screen.

Using OpenBB Terminal as a PWA​

Once installed, you can use OpenBB Terminal on your device just like you would on a desktop browser. The PWA version includes all the features of the web version, optimized for various screen sizes and touch interfaces where applicable.
